Hospitals can be scary places, especially for children whose imaginations often run away. When children are more informed they may be less fearful and more relaxed,  and therefore more cooperative during their appointment.
Children who have a positive experience of their first outpatient appointment may be more comfortable with future appointments.

This publication is a picture book that tells the story of a little girl named Lin and her experiences of visiting the Outpatients’ Department at Starship Child Health after breaking her arm.

This project grew out of a postgraduate research project investigating the experience of children in the Orthopaedic Outpatient Clinic at Starship Child Health. It has now been sponsored by the Starship Foundation for implementation, facilitated by a graphic designer at the DHW lab.
